I am Board Certified in both Neurology and in Psychiatry and to my knowledge, am the only currently practicing physician in Washington state with these credentials. I concentrate on the practice of Neurology but as illnesses which affect the brain and nervous system are so closely allied with the mind, you can easily see the benefit of full training in both.
I strive to understand each patient’s situation as unique and to work with you on a one-on-one basis as a doctor-patient team to truly understand your needs and to work diligently in resolving the issues confronting you while honestly answering all your questions to the best of my abilities. I believe in working with patients in a partnership to determine their medical care. You will always know my opinion but I am not one to force it upon you.
My responsibilities as a neurologist are to educate, counsel and comfort my patients regarding their neurological condition. You are the one in charge of your own body and we will work together to know what would be best for you.
A patient’s trust is earned and I work with my staff to be your trusted ally. Any medical problem causes you concern and anxiety — you may not know what is wrong and what needs to be done to help. We are here to get to the bottom of it.
I am a graduate of Tufts University and Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts and received my post-graduate training in Neurology and Psychiatry at Walter Reed Army Medial Center in Washington, D.C. before coming to Seattle in 1988.
I have been in private practice affiliated with Swedish Hospital since 1990 with a strong commitment to the Ballard area since the beginning. I belong to the Swedish Neuroscience Institute and am closely allied with a large team of specialists and cutting edge technology to resolve even the most complicated of problems.
